Finally, a bit of good news for once: the abominable bill to raise the smoking and vaping age to 25 (!) in Hawaii has fortunately died unceremoniously in the House, at least for now. It may be tweaked and reintroduced at a later date, of course, but for now it has lost momentum at least.
That said, this is certainly no time for our movement to rest on our laurels.
This is good news.
ReplyDeleteIndeed it is.

DeleteOkay.
DeleteIt's a good thing that the bill. People of Hawaii who believe in civil rights and civil liberties should vote for the Libertarian Party or for the Republican party to preserve the freedoms of state residents. In addition, it seems to me that Hawaii wants to be the leader in promoting tyranny against young people. Hawaii was the first state to raise the smoking and vaping age to 21 back at the start of 2016. The people of Hawaii should know that this is dishonorable. If Hawaii wants to continue in this oppressive direction, then I think that Hawaii should separate from the rest of the United States.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing that this bill died.
ReplyDeletePetition to lower drinking age to 18:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.change.org/p/united-states-department-of-health-and-human-services-lower-the-drinking-age-to-18
May I also ask, do you think that drinking alcohol at age 18 is a good idea, or are you simply arguing that 18-year-olds should be free to make the bad choice of drinking alcohol if they want to?
ReplyDeleteDrinking alcoholic beverages is not a bad idea. Alcoholic beverages are beverages, after all. To say that drinking alcoholic beverages is bad is Neo-Prohibitionist thinking, it is a type of thinking which can lead to justifying every type of tyranny imaginable. People who are 18 years old should be allowed to drink alcoholic beverages because those are beverages that are meant to be enjoyed and not abused. Alcoholic beverages are not like illegal drugs because using those substances is abuse in itself. On the other hand, alcoholic beverages are meant to be enjoyed responsibly. People who are 18 years old have the capability to enjoy alcoholic beverages responsibly.
DeleteNeo-Prohibitionism is tyrannical and irrational ideology. Prohibition rightfully ended in failure because Prohibition denied people the right to enjoy alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. There was quality control problems and there was violence by gangs in the supply chain.
This blog and this movement recognize the right of people who are 18 years old and older to enjoy alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. I do not condone abuse of alcoholic beverages but rather to support liberty and alcohol responsibility.
